Emergency Medical Services
The Roberts Park Fire Protection District is committed to delivering prompt and professional emergency medical care to residents and visitors in and around our district and surrounding communities.
Operating in IDPH Region VII, and within the South Cook County Emergency Medical System since 1976, Ingalls Hospital serves as the resource Hospital for our EMS Program with Palos Community as the designated Associate Hospital. We are also affiliated with Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Patients are routinely transported to one of three nearby hospital including Palos Community, Advocate Christ Medical Center or LaGrange Community, depending on the circumstances of the incident and system protocol.
In addition to responding to calls for emergency medical care, Roberts Park Paramedics often participate in Public Education Programs and promote wellness and health care at a variety of community events. The Roberts Park Fire Department helps students in local EMT-B and EMT-P training programs gain hands on experience through our EMS Rider program.
Our current roster of Paramedics includes seventenn full time and approximately thirty five part time personnel, all of whom maintain a high level of education and skills training through required and approved continuing education programs
The department operates two state of the art Advanced Life Support ambulances from two stations. They are staffed around the clock by certified EMT- Ps (paramedics), and most EMS responses include a fire company for additional support if needed. A third reserve ambulance is maintained for instances when one of the front line ambulances is taken out of service for maintenance or repair.
