ROBERTS PARK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
NOTICE OF FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC EXAMINATION
TO ESTABLISH AN ELIGIBILITY LIST

Qualifications
• Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Be certified as a Basic Operations Firefighter through the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal
• State of Illinois Licensed Paramedic (IDPH EMT-P)
• Valid CPAT certificate that includes ladder climb, current within the last calendar year from May 25, 2018

Applications for Firefighter/Paramedic are available May 9 – May 25, 2018 to qualified applicants between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the District’s Station #1, 8611 S. Roberts Road, Justice, Illinois 60458. A $25 non-refundable processing fee (cash/check only) is due upon receipt of the application. A valid driver’s license must be presented in order to obtain an application.

A completed application shall be returned in person to the above address no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 25, 2018. Failure to fully complete the application form shall be grounds for rejection from the testing process. Applicants must attend the following orientation:

MANDATORY ORIENTATION: Saturday, June 9, 2018, 9:00 a.m.
Station #1, 8611 S. Roberts Road, Justice, Illinois 60458. Failure to attend shall be grounds for rejection from the testing process.

WRITTEN EXAM: Saturday, June 30, 2018, 9:00 a.m.
Station #1, 8611 S. Roberts Road, Justice, Illinois 60458.

ORAL INTERVIEW: Date to be determined after the written exam.

After the Initial Eligibility List is posted, Preference Points (Veteran, Education, Experience, and Certifications) will be made available to all candidates who have successfully completed the written and oral tests.
